Camping Gear

Camping Gear

STANDARD (INCLUDED)

Camping at the designated campgrounds is included in each rider’s entry fee. You will need to bring your own small tent and sites are spaced out to meet COVID requirements.  Please keep your overall footprint area to 6 square metres or less.  Campgrounds are in flat grassy areas and have showers and toilets close by.

Campsites have been booked for riders for the nights of Tuesday (optional)/ Wednesday in Branxholm, Thursday in Weldborough, and Friday / Saturday (optional) in St Helens.

Campgrounds have a small amount of space for riders with vehicles, caravans, motorhomes, etc.  These are allocated on a first-come basis.  If these sites fill there are alternate campsites for vehicles close by – see site maps for more information.

DELUXE (OPTIONAL ADD ON)

Want the luxury of arriving at a campsite and having your camping equipment provided for you?  Simply can’t fit all that extra camping gear in your luggage? A deluxe tent all to yourself, a camp chair, tent lights, and a foam mat are a part of this package. Tents are a roomy “3 person” size with a floor space of  2.8 x 2.25m. If you already have an entry and would like to add deluxe camping Click Here.

The event COVID plan means we will allocate you a tent at the start of the event and you will retain this exact same tent for the duration of the race.  Additional space has been acquired at the campgrounds to facilitate a greater spread of tents and physical distancing.

  • One-person per tent deluxe camping equipment is an optional extra to your entry for $220.
  • You can upgrade to a two-person deluxe for $270 in total, which allows you to have a friend or partner share your tent (and split the cost with you if you like!).  This option includes the tent, two chairs, two foam mats and tent lights.  (Only one rider needs to select the two-person deluxe camping option on the entry form).

Note – for a little extra comfort we recommended bringing your own sleeping mat in addition to the foam mat provided by the organisers.  You will also need to pack your own sleeping bag/pillow.
